Bitterns Botaurus Stellaris

You often hear bitterns in reedbeds with their unique "Boom" which sounds like blowing across the top of a bottle, but seldom see these secretive birds. Smaller than a Grey Heron and if you are lucky enough to be near one, watch out for it pointing its head up to the sky to resemble a reed.
